We're Here to Change the Future of Concussion Care.

ABOUT CONCUSSION NERDS

CONCUSSION NERDS was created with one simple belief: people suffering from concussion deserve better.

By empowering clinicians with deeper knowledge, greater confidence, and a more integrative way of thinking, we're raising the standard of concussion care, one clinician, one client, and one community at a time.

our mission

More Than a Course. A Movement.

Concussion Nerds isn't just another continuing education program. It's a community of curious clinicians who believe there's a better way to assess, understand, and treat concussion.

Our mission is to challenge conventional thinking, encourage deeper clinical reasoning, and equip practitioners with the confidence to navigate even the most complex concussion presentations.

Because every clinician we educate creates a ripple effect—improving the lives of hundreds, if not thousands, of people throughout their career.

The story

Why I Started Concussion Nerds.

For years, I built programs that helped people recover from concussion.

The work was incredibly rewarding, but I couldn't ignore the pattern I was seeing. Time and time again, patients arrived after months, or even years, of searching for answers. They'd seen multiple practitioners, followed the protocols, and still weren't getting better.

I realised I was helping people at the end of the journey.

If I wanted to create lasting change, I needed to start much earlier.

By mentoring clinicians instead of individual patients, I could help improve care for thousands of people around the world. Better-equipped clinicians lead to better outcomes, greater confidence, and more hope for every person who walks through their clinic doors.

That's how Concussion Nerds was born.

This is only the beginning.

Concussion Nerds is growing into something much bigger than a single mentorship program.

Our vision is to become the world's leading destination for concussion education, bringing together clinicians, educators, researchers, and innovators who share one common goal: creating better outcomes for every person living with concussion.

From advanced mentorship and specialised workshops to an expanding academy, professional directory, and global community, we're building an ecosystem that supports clinicians throughout every stage of their professional journey.

One day, we hope every major city has a Concussion Nerd leading the way.

And we're just getting started.

Meet your Mentor

Hey there,
I’m Natasha

I'm a clinician, educator, and lifelong student of the brain.

As the founder of Symphony Brain Performance, I've worked with people from around the world experiencing persistent concussion and complex neurological conditions. Every client has reinforced one thing: no two concussions are ever the same.

That belief has shaped everything we teach at Concussion Nerds.

Rather than relying on rigid protocols or one-size-fits-all treatment plans, I help clinicians understand how to think through complexity, connect the dots between systems, and confidently build individualised treatment plans that make sense for the person in front of them.

My greatest passion isn't simply teaching concussion rehabilitation.

It's helping clinicians become the practitioner they always hoped they'd be.

Natasha Wilch, MPT, BSc (Kin)

Natasha Wilch is a Registered Physiotherapist, international speaker, and one of Canada's leading voices in concussion rehabilitation and neurological care.

A graduate of the University of British Columbia — where she earned a Bachelor of Health Science in Kinesiology followed by her Masters of Physical Therapy — Natasha has been practicing since 2011 with a singular focus on the nervous system. Her post-graduate training spans functional neurology, vestibular rehabilitation, neuro-optometry, IMS, acupuncture, chronic pain, and concussion care.

In 2015, Natasha founded Symphony Brain Performance in Nanaimo, BC — an integrated concussion and neurological rehabilitation clinic that now welcomes clients from across Canada, the United States, and internationally. From the beginning, she has been committed to doing things differently: Symphony was among the first clinics in Canada to pioneer virtual care, long before it became standard practice.

That pioneering spirit has been recognized at the highest levels. Natasha is the recipient of Canada's Entrepreneur of the Year Award (2017), the Physiotherapy Association of BC's Excellence in Leadership Award (2020), and Vancouver Island's Top 20 Under 40 Business & Community Achievement Award. She has been nominated for the Women of Influence Nanaimo Award two years running and named among RBC's Top 400 Women of Influence.

Beyond the clinic, Natasha is the founder of Concussion Nerds — a clinician education and mentorship platform dedicated to raising the standard of concussion rehabilitation worldwide. Through the Concussion Nerds Fellowship, a six-month immersive mentorship program, and the Concussion Nerds Podcast, she has built a global community of clinicians committed to doing this work at the highest level.

She is an internationally sought-after speaker, having presented at conferences in Madrid, Iceland, and across Canada and the United States — bringing evidence-informed, integrated concussion science to clinicians around the world.

Natasha believes that the future of concussion care will be built from the front lines — by clinicians who are skilled, connected, and willing to think differently. Everything she does is in service of that vision.

We Believe.

Every Concussion Is Unique

No two clients present the same, so their care shouldn't either.

Better Questions Lead To Better Outcomes

The goal isn't to memorise more information. It's to develop the clinical reasoning needed to uncover what others have missed.

Framework Creates Freedom

We don't teach rigid protocols, we teach ways of thinking that help clinicians confidently navigate complexity.

Community Accelerates Growth

Learning doesn't stop when the modules end. Through mentorship and collaboration, we continue to learn from one another long after the course is complete.

2015: Symphony Brain Performance Begins

Natasha founded Symphony Brain Performance with a vision of providing whole-person concussion care that looked beyond symptoms and focused on helping people rebuild the moments that matter.

2015-2021: Diving Deeper

As more complex concussion clients arrived from across North America, Natasha immersed herself in research, continuing education, and collaboration with clinicians from multiple disciplines. The deeper she learned, the more she realised there wasn't one complete framework that connected everything together.

2022: Concussion Nerds Is Born

Unable to find the mentorship experience she wished had existed earlier in her own journey, Natasha created Concussion Nerds—a Fellowship designed to help clinicians move beyond protocols and develop deeper clinical reasoning through mentorship, collaboration, and practical application.

Today: Building a Global Community

Today, Concussion Nerds continues to grow into a global Academy for clinicians, bringing together education, mentorship, workshops, research, and community with one shared mission: raising the standard of concussion care around the world.

And we're only just getting started.
